MSMR Architects were commissioned to refurbish a Grade II listed duplex in the heart of Mayfair into a luxury apartment. Full height, bespoke fire rated steel doors were installed in the hallways of this Mayfair apartment with minimal steel frames finished to traffic black RAL 9017. The ironmongery of the internal door handles are finished with an anodised bronze colour, emulating the subtle bronze accents incorporated within the wider award-winning design of this luxury Mayfair apartment.

The overall design is attributed to the Arts and Crafts era of the immediate area, as the bespoke steel doors to this Mayfair apartment bode a further nod to the Grade II listed building’s heritage.
Bespoke steel glazing wraps around the courtyard creating a central atrium to the layout of the luxury Mayfair apartment partitioning the upper ground floor space. Each of the three double height slim steel framed fixed glazing that surrounds the courtyard stands over 6m tall. These ultra tall steel framed screens were a challenge to lift into the building because of the height and weight too. Some of these very large screens comprised of opening doors and others housed opening windows. The steel frames to this lightwell are powder coated black with bespoke pressings at the base of the openings.

The lower ground of this luxury Mayfair duplex apartment opens out to the courtyard where the more relaxing spaces including the bedrooms can be found.
This high spec project unsurprisingly won International Design & Architecture Awards Best Project 2023, and achieved a market value over £10million.
